Frequency and period
If a drummer hits 4 beats a second, each beat is a quarter second apart. Frequency and period are the same fact seen from two sides.
T = 1 / f ω = 2πf
Pure conversion, valid for any periodic signal. Duty cycle, rise time and jitter are separate questions.
