Voltage divider
Two resistors share the voltage. The output is the share across the lower resistor, R2.
Vo = Vs × R2 / (R1 + R2)
Unloaded, ideal DC divider. A connected load appears in parallel with R2 and lowers the output. Not a regulated power supply; not a direct design for powering a board.
